We want to see Justin Fields dominate Chicago Bears training camp
Welcome to the most obvious of all obvious answers on a list like this, but it couldn’t be more true. Justin Fields has the weight of the world on him, but you wouldn’t know it by his demeanor.
He’s only the quarterback of the Chicago Bears — a team that’s been mostly quarterback-deprived for its entire 100-plus year history. He’s the starting quarterback for a franchise that’s never seen a 4,000-yard passer or a 30-touchdown pass season, and currently on a roster that’s rebuilding, without a lot of talent to throw the ball to.
Talk about a less-than-ideal situation for a second-year quarterback, also under a new offensive coordinator and an entire new coaching staff, for that matter.
Regardless, Bears fans have high expectations. No matter what, we want to believe this kid is the future. We want to see him dominate in training camp, because if he does, then the future is immediately brighter. If he takes over camp and makes big strides, then the outcome of the 2022 season, as a whole, doesn’t matter.
As long as we see Fields take significant steps forward, the rest will fall into place down the line. But, it starts in camp. Fans want to see a no-doubt type of outcome in camp. There can be no question marks about where he is in his development.
If Fields dominates, all is well in Bears training camp.
