We want to see Jaquan Brisker dominate Chicago Bears training camp

When general manager Ryan Poles took two defensive backs with those prized second-round picks this year, a lot of fans were hesitant to agree with the selections, and justifiably so. This is a team that needed offensive linemen and receivers, and badly.

For that reason, first of all, fans want to see safety Jaquan Brisker take flight immediately. As one of those second rounders, Brisker comes to the Bears with a phenomenal college pedigree.

According to Pro Football Focus, Brisker had the number 1 overall safety grade in the Big Ten since 2019 (91.6). He also earned the same number 1 spot in coverage among safeties at 92.6 and compiled 14 forced incompletions.

Fans would love to see Brisker excel in coverage, but an area we really want to see him dominate is in the box. Brisker lined up in the box quite often at Penn State and he was great there. He’s perfectly capable at stuffing the run and helping out near the line of scrimmage, and that’s someone the Bears need desperately.

Since the departure of Adrian Amos, the Bears have missed that physical box safety next to Eddie Jackson. Brisker was a high-capital selection on a team that had other enormous needs. Will he step right in and dominate as a rookie? Making an early impact is certainly in the cards for this rook.
