3 Chicago Bears players who could be cut by training camp’s end

Chicago Bears wide receiver Dazz Newsome could be cut by the end of training camp
The overhaul at the wide receiver position speaks volumes from this new regime. The Bears haven’t gone out and gotten Justin Fields a true, number one guy. But, they have added a bunch of veterans to the pool of competition for training camp.
This means one thing is clear: the Bears want competition and they want to turn this group over going into the future. The only other receiver from the Ryan Pace era still on the roster, other than Darnell Mooney, is second-year wideout Dazz Newsome.
As a sixth-round pick last year, Newsome came in as a potential possession receiver who could operate in the slot if need be. As the season wore on, though, he hardly saw the field. Even though the Bears had a lack of receiving options beyond Mooney and Allen Robinson, Newsome still was rarely given an opportunity.
Now, the Bears have veterans like Byron Pringle, Equanimeous St. Brown, Dante Pettis, Tajae Sharpe and David Moore to go along with Mooney and rookie Velus Jones Jr. It is not difficult to see a path out the door for Newsome.
He’d get an opportunity elsewhere, more than likely. But, as a Pace guy, Newsome’s odds of sticking around are slim to none when it comes to competing with a handful of veterans.
