Chicago Bears training camp could boost these players’ value

Chicago Bears safety Eddie Jackson could rise during training camp
Finally, we come to a familiar name — one that was once beloved amongst Bears fans. There was a time, not too long ago, when Eddie Jackson was looked at as one of the top safeties in all of football.
Jackson was an All Pro. He was a guy that could change the course of a game with just one play. That’s all it took. Jackson’s mentality was to take the ball away and then take it to the house. He wanted to score. He wanted to completely flip a game on its head — and he did so, several times.
But, since securing his contract extension a couple years ago, Jackson’s play has gone downhill. Now, some wonder whether that’s because of his effort, the Bears’ scheme or maybe the lack of talent surrounding him such as last year.
Jackson was always best when he had a killer pass rush in front of him and dependable corners on the outside. That way, he was allowed to roam a bit more free and play his style. But, last year, the Bears’ cornerback room was atrocious outside of Jaylon Johnson.
Now, the Bears added two high profile players in Jaquan Brisker and Kyler Gordon to start next to Jackson, which might give him a lot more freedom to make those types of plays we miss seeing from him.
Should this unit gel together quickly, fans just might see a resurrection of Jackson’s big plays in training camp — and that could surely translate to the regular season.
