The third round is a part of the draft that can help the Chicago Blackhawks a lot.

The Chicago Blackhawks don’t have their third-round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft. They sent it to the Carolina Hurricanes for their third-round pick in last year’s draft. With that pick, they took Taige Harding. However, they are still slated to make three selections in the round.

Round 3 – Pick 81 – Topias Leinonen

The Chicago Blackhawks got this pick from the Vegas Golden Knights in a three-way trade with them and the San Jose Sharks. The Hawks traded Mattias Janmark away and brought back a few picks.

If Topias Leinonen is available at this pick, the Hawks might consider taking a goalie here. He is the second-best goalie in the draft and the best from Europe. The Hawks have had some success with Finnish goalies and he is someone to look at here.

Round 3 – Pick 90 – Lukas Plos

The Toronto Maple Leafs sent this pick to the Calgary Flames for David Rittich. Later on, Calgary sent it to the Blackhawks in the trade that sent Nikita Zadorov up north. Lukas Plos is a player to consider with this pick as he could be a late-round gem down the middle of the ice.

Round 3 – Pick 94 – Angus Booth

The Chicago Blackhawks landed this pick from the Edmonton Oilers in the Duncan Keith trade. They might want to consider a defenseman with a high upside in the later stages of the third round.
