The Chicago Bulls could sign P.J. Tucker with their mid-level exception
Lastly, the Bulls could target a guy that most fans love to hate unless he’s on their team. Veteran forward P.J. Tucker looks like he’s going to receive interest from multiple teams and sign a deal that would pay him into his age 40 season. But, the 37-year-old is still playing excellent basketball and understands his role well.
Tucker brings an edge, a voice and a nastiness to the court in which the Bulls do not currently have. He’s a physical player who can, at times, get in the head of his opposing man or team. Tucker has been known to draw some technical fouls here and there, but when he gets the opposing team riled up, that’s usually a good thing.
The Bulls haven’t had a physical veteran like Tucker in quite some time, and could really use an addition like this. Tucker is not only a vocal, physical player but he’s been able to be a legitimate three-point threat for his recent teams. Again, this is an area the Bulls want to get better in.
Last season, Tucker shot a career-high 41.5 percent from three-point range while averaging over one make per game. With the Miami Heat last season, Tucker averaged 7.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 0.8 steals per game.
Tucker is still a very versatile and capable player who would add just what the Bulls need.
