The Chicago Bulls could sign Kevon Looney using their mid-level exception
The NBA champion Golden State Warriors could have a very busy next few days. After winning the title, reports surfaced that Golden State now wants to sign both Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole to new deals.
Already paying a huge chunk to Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green, this seems almost impossible for the Warriors to get done. However, if they are able to find a way to make it happen, then there will have to be sacrifices made.
One of those sacrifices could be allowing big man Kevon Looney to enter free agency and find a new team. The 26-year-old has played a huge part in the Warriors’ success as of late, becoming a significant part of the rotation and starting 80 games last season.
Looney is exactly what the Bulls are looking for this summer, in terms of a rim protector. However, he would be relegated to a bench role again if he signed with the Bulls. After six years of mainly coming off the bench, Looney would have to be satisfied with doing so yet again in Chicago.
Last year, Looney averaged 6.0 points and 7.2 rebounds while also pouring in an underrated 2.0 assists per game.
