3 Willson Contreras trade packages with New York Yankees

The Chicago Cubs would love to land two great prospects for Willson Contreras.

The Chicago Cubs and New York Yankees have made a few trades in the past. One of the most notable ones ever came in 2021 when the Cubs traded Anthony Rizzoo to the Yankees in exchange for some prospects.

So far, it is working out nicely for New York as they were able to re-sign him in the offseason. They would be hoping to do the same thing if they landed Willson Contreras in a deal. He is someone that can help them win for more than just 2022 so it is something for them to consider.

Oswald Peraza is a shortstop currently playing for New York’s AAA club. He is their number two prospect and the number 49 prospect in all of baseball. If the Cubs were able to land a kid like that, they would consider it to be a really nice trade deadline.

Luis Gil is the number nine New York Yankees prospect. He is a right-handed pitcher that is also playing AAA baseball in their system. Both Peraza and Gil are guys who could become full-time Major League players at any point now. It is not a lock that they will stick but that is true for any prospect.
