Trade Number 1 for the Chicago Bulls to land Kevin Durant

To begin, the Bulls would likely involve starting center Nikola Vucevic in any deal. His $22 million salary will help add up to Durant’s $44 million salary for next season. Vucevic is coming off quite an up-and-down season for Chicago, but he’s still a good player in this league and will offer the Nets some rebounding.

The nice thing about including Vucevic from the Nets’ standpoint is the fact that his salary is an expiring deal after this coming season. So, the Nets could have a good chunk opened up to go after free agents in 2023.

In this trade, it starts out with Vucevic. However, the Bulls also include guard Coby White. White is coming off a similar season to Vucevic, except his highs were not nearly as high as Vucevic’s. White has also been rumored to be on the trade block for a few weeks now, and the Bulls attempted to deal him prior to the draft to no avail.

The third player in this package is guard Alex Caruso, who is by far the toughest player for the Bulls to part with. There is no question the Bulls were a much better defensive team last season when Caruso was on the floor. But, this is Durant we’re talking about, and the Bulls will have to pay up.

Additionally, the Nets would get three future first-round picks, all of them non-protected.
