Trade Number 3: The Chicago Bulls get a third team involved in a blockbuster trade for John Collins

Finally, the Bulls could look to get a third team involved in a deal.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have discussed trading for a veteran center, per Shams Charania. So, maybe the Wolves could swoop in and get their guy while also unloading a contract they’ve been trying to shop around as well.

Minnesota has been trying to shop D’Angelo Russell prior to the draft, so in this trade the Hawks pair Russell with All Star point guard Trae Young. Russell creates quite the intriguing back court, as he’s had the potential to be another prolific scoring threat in the past. Coming off an up-and-down season in Minnesota, Russell now gets another shot to prove he’s worth that contract.

The Hawks once again get their prize in Williams, from the Bulls, along with the no. 19 pick via Minnesota.

Minnesota would get Clint Capela, along with White and Brown from the Bulls. They would also get the Bulls’ pick at no. 18.

Then, there’s the Bulls, who would get Collins and Atlanta’s no. 16 pick. So, the Bulls actually make out pretty well here even though they give up Williams. It’s somewhat of a musical chairs number with first-round picks, but each team gets the guy they likely want — and for Atlanta, it’s a pair of notable names.
