3 insane Alex DeBrincat trade packages with New Jersey Devils
The New Jersey Devils could push out some good prospects for Alex DeBrincat.
The Chicago Blackhawks could go for a bulk of prospects in a deal involving Alex DeBrincat. Of course, as mentioned before, the 2022 first-round pick that New Jersey holds (second overall) is going to be in play for a trade like this. It is what comes in addition to that pick that is intriguing.
Nolan Foote is a forward that can score some goals. He took a big leap forward in 2021-22 playing for both the Utica Comets and New Jersey Devils. When he made that jump to the NHL this year, he fit in nicely. Before that, he is one of the biggest reasons that Utica was a top AHL squad.
Reilly Walsh and Nikita Okhotiuk are both defensemen in New Jersey’s system. Like Foote, they both had very nice stints in the NHL at the end of the year while dominating AHL play with the Utica Comets. Both of them figure to be good players in the league really soon.
Landing a group like that would be really nice for the Hawks as they all have shown that they can perform in the NHL while dominating at the AHL level. There are a lot of ways to handle these guys going forward but the Blackhawks need to fill their system up a lot more right now.
Alex DeBrincat is one of the elite goal scorers in the NHL right now but it is clear that they can get a lot for him if they do in fact trade him. Making the second overall pick would certainly be a real thing if New Jersey is the winner of the sweepstakes.
Kyle Davidson is going to be judged hard based on what happens here. It is going to be his first mega-huge trade if they do make it. It will also be big for New Jersey’s GM Tom Fitzgerald so you know neither team wants to mess this up.
