Alex DeBrincat would be worth a lot on the trade market at this point in time.

If the New Jersey Devils landed Alex DeBrincat right now, he would make their top six very good. Their forward core of Nico Hischier, Jack Hughes, and Jesper Bratt are very good and all still incredibly young. They could be a very lethal group in short order.

To add DeBrincat to that group would make them even better. He is right around the same age as most of them too which is perfect. That is why New Jersey might be willing to give up a lot in order to land him.

That first round (second overall pick) is going to be included with any trade package involving DeBrincat. Landing a second-round pick in the same draft would also be very nice as the Hawks need to keep stockpiling picks. They already have two in the second round this year.

Ty Smith is a former first-round draft pick as New Jersey selected him 17th overall in 2018. He had a very good rookie season but then was mostly subpar in 2021-22. However, he is still developing and has all of the talents in the world. Smith fits what the Blackhawks need in a young developing defenseman.

Yegor Sharangovich is also a really nice goal scorer. He might not have the ceiling of DeBrincat but we have seen him dominate with that shot of his. He had a cold start to last season and still finished with north of 20 goals. As he plays more, he will start to score even more.

A 24-year-old like that on a cheap deal would be really nice for the Blackhawks. All four of these pieces could be what the Hawks need to trade DeBrincat away. It might even take a little bit more but this is a great starting point for a trade.
