The Chicago Blackhawks could land a first-round pick for Patrick Kane as well.

If the Chicago Blackhawks did decide to trade Patrick Kane away, they could look for a first-round pick instead of the top organizational prospect. The Buffalo Sabres have three of them to use to their advantage in 2022.

The one here was given to them by the Vegas Golden Knights in the Jack Eichel trade. The Blackhawks could take that top half of the draft pick and make something of it if thier scouting department did a good job. They haven’t done a great job with that in recent years but Kyle Davidson surely wants to turn that around.

Dylan Cozens would be a great young addition to the Chicago Blackhawks as well. He was taken in the first round of the 2019 NHL Draft. You might remember when the Blackhawks passed on Cozens (amongst other players) for Kirby Dach. This could be their path to getting another good young prospect to develop.

Jacob Bryson is a defenseman that the Blackhawks could have added into the deal but they would have to sign him. He is a restricted free agent that will (for now) stick with whatever team has his rights at the time of negotiations. He could end up providing some nice depth one day so this trade could be a good one for both sides.
