The Chicago Bulls could trade Coby White to the San Antonio Spurs

The first trade would see Coby White head to the San Antonio Spurs, where he could become part of the rotation under Gregg Popovich. In exchange for White, the Bulls would get a pair of players and a pick.

The first player Chicago gets back is 26-year-old forward Keita Bates-Diop, who would fill a role left by free agent Derrick Jones Jr., should the Bulls not bring him back. Bates-Diop is a 6-foot-8 forward who can play either small or power forward. Last season, Bates-Diop saw the best rebounding season of his career, as he averaged 8.7 per 36 minutes.

For his career, Bates-Diop is a 46 percent shooter from the floor and has filled more of that 3-and-D type of role off the bench.

Second, the Bulls get guard Lonnie Walker who would step into the reserve shooting guard spot with White gone. Walker is an average defender and a subpar shooter, so he likely wouldn’t get a ton of time with Alex Caruso manning most of the bench guard minutes alongside Ayo Dosunmu. But, for a depth piece, he’s a solid player.

Chicago would also get San Antonio’s no. 25 pick this year, giving the Bulls two first-round selections in the draft.
