One of the hottest topics in the world of the NBA right now is the status of Chicago Bulls‘ free agent, Zach LaVine. Of course, the Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics are battling it out in the NBA Finals right now but the offseason drama has already started.

LaVine has been one of Chicago’s better players for a while now. He was acquired in the trade that sent Jimmy Butler to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Since then, he has continued to develop into a very good NBA player. He has been an All-Star in each of the last two seasons with the Bulls.

Now, facing free agency, many thought that he would explore his options. However, the rumor out there right now is that he is going to sign with the Chicago Bulls when he can on June 30th. This is a report that comes from Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report.

If this happens, the Chicago Bulls offseason would go entirely different than it would if he left. They would have a huge hole to fill and they would also have a lot more money to spend. If LaVine can stay healthy, he has proven that he can be one of the very best.

Zach LaVine staying with the Chicago Bulls will really help them grow as a team.

The organization is looking to take a big step after what was a really good 2021-22 season. They made it to the playoffs despite falling off a cliff in the second half. There was a point in February where they had the best record in the Eastern Conference but ended as a sixth seed.

LaVine formed a two-headed scoring monster with DeMar DeRozan this year and they were brilliant when they were both fully healthy. With a supporting cast loaded with talent in guys like Lonzo Ball, Ayo Dosunmu, Nikola Vucevic, and Alex Caruso amongst others, it was a great team when healthy.

Health keeps coming up because there were some problems this year with that. LaVine needs to stay much healthier if he is going to be worth all this money. Of course, the Bulls are going to love having him back but they need him on the court.

If these reports come true and he stays, the Bulls still have a bit more work to do before they are as good as the Boston Celtics, Milwaukee Bucks, or Miami Heat in the East. Hopefully, there are more moves to be made once the big fish is fried.
