Andrew Nembhard would give the Chicago Bulls insurance for Lonzo Ball

The first guy Chicago could look at is a bit of a wildcard, and would be considered a reach at pick no. 18. But, Gonzaga point guard Andrew Nembhard is one of those point guards who has grown throughout his collegiate career and turned into a player the Zags could count on during big moments.

Nembhard is unafraid of taking the big shots under pressure. Specifically, go back and watch him against Memphis in this year’s tournament. He single-handedly kept Memphis at bay late in the game and knocked down five huge three-pointers.

At 6-foot-5, Nembhard is a bigger point guard — similar to Lonzo who is listed at 6-foot-6. He is a smart player who does a lot of the little things, again like Lonzo. Nembhard is a decent jump-shooter and improved his three ball to shoot a career-best 38 percent last year.

Nembhard can be a physically-imposing guard, too, similar to Lonzo. He will occasionally use his post-up to strong-arm smaller guards. It’s this multidimensional aspect to his offensive game that makes him so interesting.

Currently, Nembhard is ranked no. 35 by ESPN. However, he could turn out to be one of those winning-type players that the Bulls count on off their bench. With his four years of college experience, he’d come in much more groomed than other prospects.
