Trade Number 1: The rumored deal being mentioned sending Rudy Gobert to the Chicago Bulls

In FIscher’s piece on Bleacher Report, he wrote about a specific trade that’s been floating around. The deal that’s been mentioned would send Bulls starting center Nikola Vucevic and third-year forward Patrick Williams to the Jazz for Gobert.

The initial part of this deal that would grab some attention is the fact that Chicago does not give up any draft capital, which is a huge victory. For the Bulls to keep the capital they have is important, as they’ve already dealt a chunk of it to first acquire Vucevic.

The Bulls also used draft picks to land DeMar DeRozan and Lonzo Ball last year, with DeRozan costing them a first rounder along with Thaddeus Young.

The biggest loss here, potentially, is Williams. After two seasons (only one healthy) Williams has yet to truly show his full ceiling. The thought with Williams is that, as a no. 4 overall pick, he can develop into a great two-way player with the ability to guard several positions.

Losing Vucevic’s sporadic offense in favor of Gobert’s elite defense, though, is a positive.
