2020 Fifth-round draft pick Trevis Gipson could have a breakout season with his increased snap count.

Trevis Gipson isn’t an All-pro. He isn’t a former Pro Bowler. He wasn’t even a full-time starter for the Chicago Bears last season. So why would Gipson take a giant leap and be mentioned with some of the best at his position? This is why.

In 2021 Trevis Gipson started nine games for the Bears at defensive end. Gipson was thrusted into the starting lineup because of the injury to new Los Angeles Charger, Khalil Mack.

In those nine starts, Gipson had 7 sacks, 5 forced fumbles, and 7 tackles for loss. Those are solid numbers for players playing 17 games, and it only took Gipson 9.

With Khalil Mack now completely off the roster, I would imagine Gipson will start every game this season for the Chicago Bears. Barring injury, Gipson should start 8 more games for the Bears than he did in 2020.

If Gipson can replicate his production in 2021, the sky is the limit for the former fifth-round pick out of Tulsa.
