The Chicago Bears could sign wide receiver T.Y. Hilton

Lastly, the Bears could address a position which is still under plenty of fire nationwide. The media continues to love to hate on the Bears’ wide receiving corps, and for good reason. Darnell Mooney has no experience being a true alpha, and behind him are a bunch of no. 3 wide receivers at best.

Longtime Indianapolis Colts wide receiver T.Y. Hilton is still undecided on his NFL future, but has seemed open to playing another season. While the Colts have not called, he could follow Matt Eberflus and Alan Williams to Chicago if the Bears were interested.

The 32-year-old Hilton has played for Indy his entire career since entering the league as a third-round pick back in 2012, so seeing him in another uniform would be a bit weird. However, the Bears could use his veteran presence in a big way.

Even if Hilton came in as the co-number one guy next to Mooney, he’d provide Justin Fields with another set of sure hands. For a young quarterback, a sure-handed receiver is a luxury and almost a necessity.

Hilton has compiled over 600 receptions and nearly 10,000 receiving yards in his career, and a stint with Chicago could put him over that prestigious mark. Not only that, but he would help bolster this receiving core in a huge way.
