The Chicago Bulls should pursue free agent center Kevon Looney

One of the biggest areas of need on the current Bulls roster is in the front court. Last season, the Bulls went with Tony Bradley as their initial backup big. However, once Tristan Thompson was bought out, he made is way into Bradley’s spot.

Neither Bradley nor Thompson were able to give the Bulls enough off the bench, thus Chicago should be in the market for a replacement this summer.

Looney joined the Warriors back in 2015 as a 19-year-old rookie out of UCLA and has been a fairly steady presence for Golden State over the years. It wasn’t until this last season that Looney worked himself into the starting lineup, but he still only played 21 minutes per game.

As a strong rebounding presence, Looney averaged 7.3 boards per game in those limited minutes. The Bulls could use that rebounding in a big way, but they could also use his defense — which is very underrated. If Looney is available and does not return to Golden State, he would be a phenomenal addition to the Bulls’ rotation.
