A deep threat whose best seasons were with Russell Wilson, a very similar type of player to his new quarterback Justin Fields.

1.) David Moore

The Bears added many new names to the wide receiver room this offseason, through both free agency and the draft. Moore is one of those players. However, with so many new faces in the wide receiver room, nobody is sure which players actually end up on the final 53-man roster.

Moore, 27, is just entering the prime years of most players careers. Moore is most definitely known for his speed and deep threat ability. From 2018-2020 Moore saw most of his production. As a Seattle Seahawk, he had years with 26, 17, and 35 receptions with two of those seasons averaging over 17 yards a reception.

Moore’s deep threat ability might be what separates him from all of the other new receivers. Darnell Mooney is the clear number 1 receiver on this Bears team. With all the attention he will be receiving from other team’s top corners and safeties, Moore might have to be the one to take the top off of the defense and create the big play.

I believe Justin Field’s scrambling ability will also help Moore’s shot of making the team and contributing. David Moore saw his best seasons with another quarterback who was athletic and could extend plays in Russell Wilson. The similar playstyle at QB could make it easy for Moore to step into an immediate impact role.
