Bold predictions for Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet in 2022
One of the less talked-about Bears from last season was tight end Cole Kmet. Many might not realize this, but he had a fairly decent season catching passes from three different quarterbacks and in a horrendous system.
In 2021, Kmet caught 60 passes for 612 yards with zero touchdowns. This season, there are a lot of folks in the fantasy industry predicting a breakout for the former second-round pick. How big of a breakout? Well, let’s temper the expectations just a bit. However, the following line would be more than acceptable for Kmet.
Predictions for 2022:
68 receptions (4 per game)
95 targets (5.6 per game)
714 receiving yards (10.5 per catch)
5 receiving touchdowns
The biggest difference between last year and this year? Getsy is able to utilize Kmet in the red zone far more than Nagy ever did.

Kmet ends the year with a similar amount of receptions, but more so because Fields will spread the ball around to a few different receivers. If the Bears can get a year like the above numbers, there’s no reason why they shouldn’t be satisfied.
