5 sign-and-trade packages if Zach LaVine leaves the Chicago Bulls
By Ryan Heckman
The Chicago Bulls could trade Anfernee Simons to the Portland Trail Blazers
The only team that could sign LaVine outright, at the moment, is the Portland Trail Blazers. Obviously, there will be plenty of moves made before free agency and during the craziness in order to open up additional cap space. But, right now the Blazers could get him without giving anything up.
But, the NBA has evolved a bit and the Bulls might be able to execute a sign-and-trade in order to get something in return.
In this deal, the Bulls will bring home young shooting guard Anfernee Simons, who ascended last year in Portland as a fourth-year pro. Finally breaking out after being a late first-round pick in 2018. Simons more than doubled his previous career-high in points per game last season with 17.3. He also shot a blistering 40.5 percent from long distance.
Not only do the Bulls get Simons, but they get a first-round pick from Portland. Ah, yes, another first-round pick situation between the Bulls and Blazers — how exciting.
Meanwhile, LaVine joins Damian Lillard in Portland which is close to home (Seattle) for the free agent All Star guard.
