Chicago Bears depth chart predictions: Offensive Line
By Josh De Luca
I believe new acquisition Lucas Patrick will take the starting center role for the Bears this season. This isn’t set in stone quite yet with Sam Mustipher still on the roster. Mustipher started all 17 games for the Bears last season. Although Sam wasn’t great in his starting role, he was definitely a serviceable player for this Bears team.
The Bears also turned around and selected Doug Kramer in the sixth round of this draft. Doug was a member of the All-Big Ten second team, and an Academic All-Big Ten member during his time at the University of Illinois. Kramer is an unlikely option to be the starter, but with OTA’s now in progress, he could turn some heads.
Lukas Patrick looks to be one of the best free agent signings this offseason and will definitely be given a shot at the starting position.
Even with all if this competition for the center spot, Patrick has the advantage. In Patrick’s last two seasons, he started 15 and 13 games, both at center and at right guard. He played well wherever he had to step in for the Packers, and is expected to do the same with Chicago. Reports from camp have said that Patrick looks impressive so far, and has also been building a relationship with Justin Fields.
