The left guard position for the Bears should also not take too long to figure out. Cody Whitehair has manned the left guard spot for the Bears since he was drafted in 2016. Whitehair is by far the most accomplished and experienced player on the whole offensive line. Since drafted, Whitehair already has started 95 games and was named to a Pro-Bowl in 2018.

However, the last few seasons Whitehair seems to have taken a step back. According to PFF, he drew five flags and let up four sacks in 17 games at guard. Last season’s decline in play isn’t severe and could have just been a result of a bad system and play calling.

Whitehair has been an anchor at guard on the Bears for years, and it will likely stay that way.

I don’t see any other player currently on the Bears roster even giving Whitehair a fight for his left guard spot. Even if Whitehair is no longer in his Pro-Bowl form, he offers so much experience that he will be a huge leader and communication guy for this young and developing offensive line.
