Chicago Bears players with the most to prove in 2022: S Eddie Jackson
For the last two years, many Bears fans have all but given up on safety Eddie Jackson. After Jackson ascended to being an All Pro and a guy who turns games upside down with some of his big-time plays, his game completely fell apart over the past two seasons.
Now, Jackson is part of a secondary where it’s not crazy to think he’s the one starter whom people are the least confident in. The Bears added highly-touted rookies to their starting secondary in cornerback Kyler Gordon and safety Jaquan Brisker, and barring anything crazy, they should end up being excellent additions.
Jaylon Johnson is a very good starting cornerback, but without any help in that group, it was tougher to see. Now, the Bears secondary could end up being a huge strength. But, where does Jackson fit? Is he still the weak link? Or, will he take this opportunity to revert back to form seriously?
Jackson’s lack of effort last year was alarming on many occasions. Failing to make tackles or even attempt to make them in certain situations put the Bears defense in some very bad spots. His lack of big plays makes fans wonder if he’s still capable of being that player he once was. Can Jackson bounce back this year?
