Tony La Russa is destroying the 2022 Chicago White Sox
The Chicago White Sox have a lot of talent on that baseball field. Unfortunately, they don’t have any chance to win something of significance as long as Tony La Russa is their manager. He is slowly but surely killing this team.
They are currently in the middle of a series with the New York Yankees who could claim that they are the best team in Major League Baseball right now. That is a team that makes their lineups the right way no matter what.
Unless there is a rest day or a weird pitching matchup, they lead off with DJ LeMahieu every time. He is always followed by, in order, Anthony Rizzo, Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, and Josh Donaldson. That is a top-five that produces runs unlike any other in the American League.
White Sox manager Tony La Russa likes to change it every single game no matter what. He also likes to put random bad hitters like Leury Garcia in the two spot like he did for game one of Sunday’s doubleheader. He is absolutely destroying this team’s chance to win.
Yoan Moncada and Andrew Vaughn are on the bench for this one too. Like it or not, those two are part of the “best nine” on the White Sox but they get the first game off in favor of guys like Leury Garcia and Josh Harrison. It is becoming a big joke.
Tony La Russa is clearly killing this Chicago White Sox team with his decisions.
We can only hope that the elite talent on this team combined with outstanding pitching is able to overcome the bad lineups and managerial decisions. This is a very good baseball team that has a chance to win every game because of their talent. It would just be nice if they had a manager that knew what he was doing.
It would be so cool to see this team just start using their best players every game unless there is a random off day for someone. That is what guys like Leury Garcia, Josh Harrison, Adam Engel, and Gavin Sheets should be used for. The Yankees do it that way and it seems to be working well for them.
