The Chicago Bulls could trade Nikola Vucevic to the Phoenix Suns

One of the most interesting storylines around the league for the next month and a half will be that of Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton. An impending free agent, Ayton has not felt valued by the Suns organization and might end up finding a new home if Phoenix doesn’t decide they want to keep him. If that’s the case, then teams will be lining up to give him max money, per multiple reports.

Now, as we have seen in offseasons of late, the Suns could try to get something in return for Ayton if they do not see him sticking around long-term. In this scenario, it might be the best-case for Phoenix to get a good player and picks in return for Ayton.

The Bulls would give up Vucevic, but also their number 18 pick this year. Not only that, but they’d give Phoenix another future first-round pick. Which year would the pick land? That’s irrelevant at this point, as the Bulls would have some figuring to do. They have some picks that may get pushed out further in the future from recent deals done.

The Bulls would get Ayton and a future second rounder from the Suns. Then, of course, he would be on a max contract with Chicago. What would the Bulls be able to do going forward when it came to LaVine’s salary? That’s the big question that would need answering. Could the Bulls keep Ayton, LaVine and DeMar DeRozan?
