The Chicago Bulls could trade Coby White to the Dallas Mavericks

A team that’s in a similar position as Memphis is the Dallas Mavericks, who have enjoyed a deep playoff run thanks to a deep roster of their own. One of the biggest surprises this season, in all of basketball, has been the play of point guard Jalen Brunson.

This offseason, Brunson will be a free agent and is going to get paid handsomely. Would the Mavericks consider bringing him back, especially considering they have Spencer Dinwiddie locked down through the 2023-2024 season? That’s highly doubtful, so the Mavs will have to figure out how to replace Brunson, who has been a phenomenal presence for them this year.

White could suffice, and he’d come far cheaper than trying to keep Brunson. In this trade, the Bulls would yet again net a late first-round pick for a guy who was once the number seven overall selection in 2019.

If White reverted to form, he would give the Mavericks yet another shooter to go with a guy like Dorian Finney-Smith. The Bulls, meanwhile, would be able to use that pick on either a backup big or another wing.
