3. New Chicago Bears WR Dante Pettis has always possessed the talent

There is a reason Pettis was taken early in the second round just four years ago. We have already established the fact that he was an electric playmaker coming out of college. However, the college game is much different than the NFL.

As a pro, Pettis has been asked to work much harder. He’s been asked to practice harder. He has been given his opportunities, and according to his former head coach Kyle Shanahan, Pettis has not taken advantage of them.

His falling out with the 49ers came mostly because of those opportunities going awry. Sure, he’s had some injuries here and there. But, the reason San Francisco never panned out for the former Husky is because of his own doing.

Now on his third team, it is solely on Pettis’ shoulders to prove his worth in the NFL. The skill set is there. The speed and size are there. He even has some impressive tape as a pro, where he’s shown off those skills that made him such a high draft pick.

But, this is year number five. It’s all coming down to this opportunity. It very well could be his last to make a real impression and contribute to a team that desperately needs help at his position.
