1. New Chicago Bears WR Dante Pettis is fast… real fast

Matt Eberflus made it known, right away, that he wanted to find players with speed and athleticism. Eberflus is a firm believer in running and running often. Speed kills, as they say.

Well, they just found more speed in a guy like Pettis. He ran his 40-yard dash in a blistering 4.32 seconds — a familiar time for Bears fans keyed in on this year’s draft class. At 6-foot-1 and 195 pounds, Pettis offers ideal size but still possesses that rare, breakaway speed.

Last year, Matt Nagy and Ryan Pace found speed in Marquise Goodwin and Damiere Byrd. However, we now know that Nagy’s offense was unable to use that speed to their advantage.

Bears fans can only hope that Eberflus, along with offensive coordinator Luke Getsy, are able to find a place for Pettis. Not only that, but getting him the ball in space will be key to his success.
