Week 7 at New England Patriots: Loss

Fields versus Mac Jones will take place on Monday Night Football at Foxborough. The Bears chose Fields over Jones in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Jones had the winning season and went to the playoffs last season. There was a portion of the Chicago Bears’ fan base that felt Jones should have been the quarterback the Bears went with. The problem with that logic is Jones does not nearly have the athleticism that Fields has. If Jones played behind last year’s Bears’ offensive line, his career may already be over.

The last time Jones and Fields faced each was in college with Jones getting the win.

This contest will probably not be a blowout like the last time these two met. Still, expect the Patriots to win because they are the better team and they have Bill Belichick as their head coach.

Week 8 at Dallas Cowboys: Loss

The Cowboys are just more talented than the Chicago Bears. If this game is played at Soldier Field, the Bears may have a shot.

Instead, it is being played in Dallas.

Unless Dallas is banged up, the Cowboys should win this one.

Week 9 vs. Miami Dolphins: Loss

The Dolphins had the offseason Bears fans hoped Chicago would have.

They hired an offensive-minded head coach to improve their young, still-developing quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. They signed the best offensive tackle on the market in Terron Armstead. Finally, the Dolphins went out and traded for superstar receiver Tyreek Hill.

The catch is the Dolphins had the salary cap space and draft pick capital to get Hill and Armstead. The Chicago Bears are clearing cap space this season so in 2023 they can have the same type of offseason the Dolphins had.

While the jury is still out on Tagovailoa as to whether he can become a great quarterback, the Dolphins just have way too many weapons. The Bears’ losing streak is extended to three.
