The Chicago Bears 2022 schedule has been released. The schedule is not as grueling as the 2021 campaign was.

Last season the Chicago Bears had to take on the AFC North which featured the AFC Champions Cincinnati Bengals along with having to play the NFC West. The Bears had to open the 2021 campaign against the eventual Super Bowl Champions, Los Angeles Rams.

The Chicago Bears ended up playing eight teams that made the playoffs last season. The 2022 schedule features just six teams that made the playoffs. The Bears play the sixth easiest schedule in the NFL.

The Bears have matchups against the Houston Texans, Atlanta Falcons, New York Jets, New York Giants, and Washington Commanders.

Plus, they have the two divisional games against the Detroit Lions, so the Bears have at least seven games they should compete in.

The problem is the Chicago Bears open the season against the San Francisco 49ers, and then have to travel to Lambeau Field for a Sunday night showdown against the Green Bay Packers. The Bears also have to go to New England and Dallas. The Buffalo Bills and the improved Miami Dolphins come to Soldier Field. There is a matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles at Soldier Field to worry about as well.

The Bears traded away Khalil Mack to the Los Angeles Chargers. They let Allen Robinson and James Daniels walk in free agency leaving voids at wide receiver and on the offensive line. So far the biggest free-agent acquisition has been Lucas Patrick to play center. The Bears did draft two probable starters for their secondary in Kyler Gordon and Jaquan Brisker.

The Chicago Bears are a great unknown heading into the 2022 season. The offensive line on paper appears weak.

Justin Fields flashed a ton of potential at quarterback. He has the talent to elevate the Bears play. Still, he did not have a great rookie campaign and still has a lot of work to do to fulfill his immense potential.

Also, injuries always play a role in how a season shakes out. That is why it is always tough to make a full prediction on how the Chicago Bears season will go.

The Bears are long shots to win the Super Bowl or the NFC North title. They are currently +7500 to win the Super Bowl according to WynnBet. WynnBet has the Chicago Bears as +800 to win the NFC North.

It will take Fields taking a monster leap forward for the Bears to be in playoff contention. The new offense being implemented under offensive coordinator Luke Getsy could make that reality. The Bears wide receiver corp is not filled with a bunch of playmakers outside of Darnell Mooney.

New head coach Matt Eberflus’ takeaway defensive system might give the Chicago Bears a fighting chance in most games.

Until training camp and a couple of preseason games are played, it will be hard to gauge just how many wins the Chicago Bears can rack up. Let’s give it a shot anyway.
