Two picks later, the Bulls get to select once again thanks to their trade with the Spurs. At pick no. 20, the Bulls go with Duke center Mark Williams.

Last season, the Bulls struggled to find a backup big man who could offer them some stability on both ends of the floor. In the 7-foot-1 Williams, the Bulls get a guy who can come off the bench for Nikola Vucevic and give them an excellent rebounding presence.

Williams is the reigning ACC Defensive Player of the Year and brings tremendous shot-blocking ability with him to Chicago. He’s mostly known to be a great rebounder and post defender, who can also give the Bulls an offensive rebounding presence — something they severely lacked last year.

Williams won’t offer the Bulls anything from the perimeter, but his post game on both ends of the floor is more than enough. He’s a finisher at the hoop, throwing it down on most occasions.

The Bulls don’t want to have to depend on a Tony Bradley or Tristan Thompson, who were especially bad on both ends at times. Landing Williams is a huge win for the Bulls, and will give them a rotational big for the foreseeable future.
