5 bold Chicago Bears predictions for remainder of the offseason
By Ryan Heckman
3. The Chicago Bears will sign Will Fuller or Emmanuel Sanders
As much as some of the more positive fans want to say people are sleeping on Equanimeous St. Brown as the Bears’ fourth receiver, the reality is, he has not done anything yet as a pro. The Bears really only have three receivers they can count on in Darnell Mooney, Byron Pringle and rookie Velus Jones Jr.
St. Brown and second-year pro Dazz Newsome are next up on the depth chart, and neither inspire too much confidence just yet. The Bears can and will sign a veteran before camp.
That veteran should end up being either Will Fuller or Emmanuel Sanders. Although there are legitimate concerns with both, Fuller or Sanders would make this receiving room a whole lot more formidable.
Fuller’s main concern is his health. Can he stay on the field? Sanders, meanwhile, is 35 years old. When he’s out there, he’s still effective and would be a great number three or four option in Chicago. Heck, either Sanders or Fuller could end up being one of the top options in this offense.
