2. The Chicago Bears trade Robert Quinn during preseason

Each year, there are big names who go down to injury in training camp. As we saw this offseason, it was the offseason of the pass rusher (and wide receiver, but not for the sake of this segment).

Pass rushers got an incredible amount of money this offseason and it has become abundantly clear: teams are coveting the edge rusher more than ever before.

The Bears already traded Khalil Mack, and dealing Robert Quinn isn’t out of the question just yet. Quinn is 32 years old and the Bears could let him go after this coming season — and likely will. Instead, trading him during training camp for future assets would be a wise decision.

The Bears have a pair of young pass rushers in Trevis Gipson and Dominique Robinson. Those two could get a whole lot of immediate experience and an opportunity to prove they belong in 2022. Even if they’re not long-term answers, this is a rebuilding year anyways. Trading Quinn frees up even more future money while giving Poles additional draft capital down the line.

If there’s a big name pass rusher that gets hurt this summer, look for teams to call on Quinn, who just set the Bears’ franchise sack record in 2021.
