The Chicago Bears landed Illinois native Jack Sanborn as an undrafted free agent.

Every now and then, an undrafted free agent becomes an impact player in the NFL. That may or may not happen with someone that the Chicago Bears found this year but you just never know going into camp. There are a lot of talented players that went undrafted this year.

Jack Sanborn is one of those guys. He was someone that was considered to be a day three pick going into the madness but nobody took him. He is a linebacker out of the University of Wisconsin. The Illinois native will be starting his NFL career close to where he is from which has to be exciting.

It is unclear whether or not he will be an NFL player but he has a great chance to make the Opening Day roster. This defense wasn’t all that good in 2021 and could use upgrades at a lot of different positions. Adding a good young linebacker is definitely a great idea for Ryan Poles.

It seems, so far, that Poles knows what he is doing in terms of defense. He also has Matt Eberflus as the head coach who we all know is a defensive-minded guy. They might be able to get something really good out of Sanborn as early as week one.
