The Chicago Bulls could sign free agent guard Pat Connaughton
Why not stick with the team that continues to hurt Chicago? The Milwaukee Bucks have plenty of talent, and that includes a plethora of shooters. Pat Connaughton has gone from unknown role player to a huge asset on this Milwaukee roster, as he’s been able to give the Bucks some blistering shooting from three-point range and can do a few other things here and there as well.
Like the aforementioned Portis, Connaughton has a player option with the Bucks. Not only could Portis opt-out for more money, but so could Connaughton. Because this team has featured so many improved names, the Bucks could end up losing some talented guys.
Connaughton would come to Chicago as the first guard off the bench, and hopefully replace Coby White whom the Bulls could try and trade. Connaughton is far more poised than White and has proven to come up big in those key moments, which White still has yet to prove.
The 6-foot-5 former second rounder out of Notre Dame enjoyed the best year of his career this past season, averaging 9.9 points while shooting 39.8 percent from long distance and giving the Bucks 4.2 rebounds, 1.3 assists and nearly a steal per game.
