The Chicago Bulls could sign free agent point guard Tyus Jones
Believe it or not, point guard Tyus Jones is set to turn 26 years old in a couple of days and is still extremely young. This past season, Jones has taken a huge leap in his development and has become a key part of this Memphis Grizzlies roster as the primary backup to Ja Morant.
Over the course of this season, the Grizzlies had to play a while without Morant and it was Jones who had to step in and be the guy. Jones ended up starting 23 games for the Grizzlies and played in a total of 73 games this past year.
Jones reminds many of a guy like Jalen Brunson, who has played very well for the Dallas Mavericks this season. Both of these vets could have played themselves into some serious money this offseason, but Brunson more so than Jones.
The Bulls could go after Jones as a potential backup point guard and possible starter, should Lonzo Ball’s recovery take a little longer than expected. Coby White is still here, but the Bulls may move him this offseason if an opportunity presents itself.
Jones averaged 39 percent from three-point range this last year, which is something the Bulls could really use off the bench.
