57. . QB. Chicago Bears. Justin Fields. 1. player

Justin Fields is the most important player on the Chicago Bears’ entire roster.

The Chicago Bears have a lot of great players at the top of their roster. Filling out the bottom of their roster and developing their prospects is what will change them from a bad team to a good team. The most important person in this equation is Justin Fields.

The Chicago Bears traded up in the 2021 NFL Draft to select Justin Fields high in the first round. They have never had a good long-term solution at the quarterback position and are now hoping that Justin is that guy. Only time will tell if he actually is.

Ryan Poles and his staff clearly wanted to help him in the 2022 NFL Draft and they did. Everyone knew that offensive line help and more wide receivers would be the biggest targets for the Bears in this draft and they were.

Some people were shocked that it didn’t come with either of their second-round picks (they didn’t have a first from the Justin Fields trade) but it did eventually come. It started when they drafted Velus Jones Jr. out of the University of Tennessee.

Ryan Poles made it very clear that Justin Fields was involved in the process and confirmed that he was on the list that they came up with together. That is good news for Bears fans. He will certainly be another weapon for Fields to have as a target going forward.

They also drafted four offensive linemen in the draft. That’s right. Four of the eleven picks made were guys who would be paid to protect the franchise quarterback. We don’t know which of them is going to stick around but the more bodies, the better. Fields will be better as a result.

It is uncertain how any of these draft picks will pan out in the long term but the plan is for them to have successful careers while wearing blue and orange. If they play well early on, everyone on the 2022 Chicago Bears roster will benefit from it.

The Chicago Bears made a huge mistake with this undrafted FA. light. Related Story
