5 veteran free agents the Chicago Bears must sign after the draft

The Chicago Bears should sign free agent wide receiver Julio Jones
Since the Bears just drafted one wide receiver in Velus Jones Jr., they should look at signing one more veteran. Last year, the Tennessee Titans brought in former Atlanta Falcons great Julio Jones. After just one season, though, the Titans parted with Jones.
At this stage in his career, Jones is not the guy he once was and health has become a concern. However, the 2011 first-round pick would be an incredible presence in the Bears’ locker room and would help the development of Justin Fields.
Even at 33 years old, Jones still has the big body and provides Fields with a huge catch radius when healthy. Jones wouldn’t be the viable number one option, but he could be there as a guy who ends up with 50 receptions for 600-700 yards if he’s able to play the whole season.
If the Bears had Darnell Mooney, Julio Jones, Velus Jones and Byron Pringle as their top four guys, the room would look a whole lot better than it did just a few weeks ago. You’re talking about bringing in a player who has over 13,000 career receiving yards and 61 touchdowns. Jones is an all-time great who, by all accounts, still wants to play football. The Bears should sign him.
