5 veteran free agents the Chicago Bears must sign after the draft

The Chicago Bears should sign free agent cornerback Trae Waynes
Matt Eberflus wants athletes, and Trae Waynes can fly. Although he has not panned out to be the first-round talent he was selected to be back in 2015, Waynes still provides some needed depth for a position that got a whole lot better over the past two weeks.
The Bears will obviously be starting third-year pro Jaylon Johnson alongside rookie second rounder Kyler Gordon going into the season. Newly-signed free agent pickup Tavon Young will man the slot.
But, the Bears’ next guy up is likely Thomas Graham Jr., a sixth-round pick from last year. They still need to add some depth at the position, and Waynes is a veteran presence who could come in and give them a third or fourth man on the depth chart.
The one big thing about Waynes, again, is his speed. He came out as one of the fastest players in his class when he was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings out of Michigan State. Now also almost 30 years old, he still has the speed and, at the very least, could contribute big time on special teams.
