Pro comparison for Chicago Bears draft pick Velus Jones Jr.: Wide receiver Deebo Samuel
For those about to have an aneurysm, just know two things. First of all, NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah put Velus Jones Jr. and Deebo Samuel in the same conversation.
Daniel Jeremiah said earlier this month he sees some Deebo-like traits in Velus Jones ...

"Really sturdy and strong and explosive. Like real, real, real fast. On jet sweeps, you see it in the kick return game with him, as well. Just get him the ball and let him go."
Second, Jones is not Deebo. But, he has a lot of similarities to the (current) 49ers stud.
Jones averaged more yards after the catch than every single wide receiver drafted in front of him. That stat, alone, is eye-opening.
Deebo can be used in a variety of ways and is extremely difficult to tackle. Jones, likewise, has the same type of skill set. Jones is also even faster than Samuel, which is pretty scary to think about. Samuel may be stronger, but Jones is right there knocking on the door of similar strength.
Looking at their size, one may be surprised to learn that both Jones and Samuel stand six feet tall. Samuel weighs 15 pounds heavier, but again, you can see the similarities are aplenty.
When Justin Fields sat down and watched Jones on film, he liked the guy. He loved what Jones could do with the ball in his hands — and so will Bears fans.
