Curtis Brooks – DT

The Chicago Bears could go back to defense on day three of the NFL Draft.

The Chicago Bears used their first two picks on defense. Some people might not like it but the Bears’ defense was pretty bad for their standards in 2021. Ryan Poles clearly cares about fixing it. Matt Eberflus is also a defensive-minded coach so it might be time to expect more of it.

That means that more defensive draft picks could be coming on day three. They certainly won’t use every pick on defense to cap off the draft as only one has been used on offense so far but there could be more defense coming.

Curtis Brooks is someone to consider. He is a defensive tackle out of the University of Cincinnati. Or course, coming from Cincinnati means that he was a part of the best season that any group of five school has ever had.

He was on a team that won a lot of big games that few expected them to win. A lot of those players now know what it is like to be underdogs. There is a lot of great experience that came from that as nobody expected a school like that to ever make it to the College Football Playoff.

Brooks would be joining a defensive line that could use some help. The Bears’ defense has lost a few impact players that helped them create pressure. Adding someone like Brooks could help them move forward.

As stated already, the Chicago Bears don’t pick for a while on day three so they have to home some of these really good players fall to them at the right time. These are also not the only good players left on the table so they need to be wise.
