Minnesota Vikings: B

The new Minnesota Vikings’ safety should be a concern for Chicago Bears fans.

The Minnesota Vikings traded out of the 12th overall pick so they can collect some more draft capital from the division rival Detroit Lions. It was a trade that sort of came out of nowhere between two teams that very rarely will ever trade with one another.

When two division rivals make a deal, you know that each side truly believes that they are getting something fair enough that they are okay with helping the other team. Detroit really liked the Alabama receiver so they made the move to get him.

Minnesota landed two extra draft picks by moving back from 12 to 32. With that 32nd overall pick that originally belonged to the Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams, the Vikings selected Lewis Cine out of the University of Georgia.

This pick made a bit of history. It was the fifth defensive player taken in the first round from Georgia’s all-time great defense. That is the first time that such a thing has happened in the modern draft era.

Moving back for more picks was a risk for the Vikings but this kid is going to be awesome for them. They needed someone to play with Harrison Smith at the safety position and now they have a very good option.
