Top 2022 NFL Draft options for the Chicago Bears in Round 2

3. CB Kyler Gordon

One of the absolute best picks the Bears could make at no. 39 is if Washington cornerback Kyler Gordon was available. Gordon’s projection reminds many a lot of Jaylon Johnson a couple of years ago, as Johnson was a first-round projection for a lot of folks but ended up falling to the second round.

Gordon stands just under six feet tall, weighing 194 pounds. At the Combine, he ran just a 4.52 but plays a whole lot quicker than that. His closing speed is excellent and he looks to attack as soon as the ball is thrown. Gordon’s instincts are absolutely out of this world.

Because of his physicality and closing speed, Gordon could line up anywhere for the Bears. He is obviously ideal on the outside, paired with Johnson, but he could absolutely play the slot if needed at times.

Gordon, along with his teammate Trent McDuffie, is a first-round prospect. But, as we’ve already established, there will be great talent available in the second round due to a run on certain positions. Adding Gordon to this defense would be a huge win, and greatly improve the unit as a whole. To get a game-changing player like Gordon would be an excellent pick by Poles.
