Top 2022 NFL Draft options for the Chicago Bears in Round 2
7. WR Jahan Dotson
If he doesn’t go in the late first, Penn State’s Jahan Dotson will go early on in the second round and could be an option for the Bears at no. 39. He’s one of the more polished, all-around receivers in this class.
Dotson is exciting with the ball in his hands as he is extremely shifty and slips through tacklers relatively often. But, his best trait is by far in the route running category. Dotson’s route running is some of the best in all of this draft class.
One of the things you’ll read about Dotson is the phrase “always open.” Whether it is on underneath routes, over the middle or even a little deeper, Dotson finds himself some green and turns to his quarterback.
Dotson is the type of receiver who would greatly impact the confidence of Fields. He’s a guy that Fields can trust to get open time and time again. Last year, Dotson was heavily depended upon by the Nittany Lions as he caught 91 passes for 1,182 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Although the Bears have a slot guy in Byron Pringle, Dotson could easily take over that spot quickly and be worked in on the outside too at times.
