Top 2022 NFL Draft options for the Chicago Bears in Round 2

No. 8: S Jaquan Brisker

Another name to look for in the early to middle stages of the second round is Penn State safety Jaquan Brisker, who is one of the top safeties in this class outside of Kyle Hamilton and Lewis Cine.

At 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds, Brisker would give the Bears a bigger, strong safety to pair with Eddie Jackson. Brisker might also help bring the best out of Jackson, which would be a much-needed leap back to where Jackson used to be.

The versatility from Brisker would allow the Bears to play him anywhere, quite honestly. He is excellent in the box and plays physical against the run. He also has the instincts and coverage skills to take the ball away in the passing game.

Brisker is an all-around athlete, running a 4.49 at the Combine and being able to close quickly. And, when he closes, he finishes tackles. Brisker is a sure tackler who loves to lay the wood.

The Bears lacked a toughness and discipline in their secondary last year, and Brisker would absolutely help to bring that back.
