Top 2022 NFL Draft options for the Chicago Bears in Round 2

No. 10: WR Christian Watson

One of the favorite picks by fans, over the past couple of months, is North Dakota State wide receiver Christian Watson. He’s a guy who came up through lesser competition and completely dominated, doing exactly what he needed to do if he were to make some NFL noise.

Then, Watson set the Combine on fire. The 6-foot-4, strong-framed Watson ran a ridiculous 4.36 in his 40-yard dash. For a guy his size, that was enough to make people stop and stare. Then, he led all receivers with a 136-inch broad jump.

To say Watson is an athlete is an understatement. He has the traits you look for in that dominant, outside receiver. But, one of the best parts about Watson is that he’s looked at with high regard in the locker room. He’s known as a leader and a very hard worker — the type of character Eberflus desires.

To land Watson anywhere in the second wouldn’t be a reach at all. In fact, he has snuck into some first round conversation over the past few weeks, but still remains mostly a second-round prospect. Bears fans would be elated to see Watson’s name called Friday night, and he would greatly benefit the development of Justin Fields.
