3 SEC players for Chicago Bears to target in second round
The Chicago Bears might want to upgrade their defensive line before next year.
Yes, the Chicago Bears need help in their secondary. Giving up big plays seemed to be second nature for them over the last few years. However, they should probably address the defensive line at some point as well.
Good pass rushers are the second most important thing in the NFL only behind the quarterback. The Chicago Bears used to be loaded with them. Robert Quinn, Akiem Hickes, and Khalil Mack were great but now it is down to Robert Quinn and we don’t even know what he will mean to the team in 2022.
There are a few players from the SEC that could help them rebuild their defensive line through the draft this year. Particularly in the second round, they could go with DeMarvin Leal who is an absolute beast out of the University of Texas A&M.
Leal was someone who could get pressure on the quarterback as good as anyone in the SEC during his time at A&M. Being selected in the second round feels right for him and the Bears should be one of the teams taking a look at him. He will be a solid starter in the NFL one day soon.
There is a chance the Bears take a look at the SEC and there is a chance they don’t. Out of the entire draft, they have six picks right now. You can bet that one of those six picks (if not more) will come from an SEC school. These ones listed would be perfect for them in the second round.
